Ralph’s maternal grandmother. there are two MAWs in lower gornal around then – b 1845 and 1852. she seems to settle on 1849…. need a birth certificate.
1861 census: MAW1 is 9, father a miner. MAW2 is 15, father a stone setter.
Are both fathers Thomas? Marriage banns are the only firm link.

born 1845 ish Sedgley / Himley – there in 1851 and 61 censuses. Can’t find her in 1871 unless sh’es calling herself Jenkins / they got confused!
Marries Alfred Jenkins on 17th July 1871 All Saints Birmingham; he;s a bricklayer, shes a domestic servant, bith in Lee Street Lodge Road (near where Marj ended up lodging??)
9 children; are two of them twins? Florence is the middle one. Stour Street, Rotton Park, Ladywood

one version of MAW – Mary Ann Waklem’s mother was born in Sedgely in about 1799. She saw the area transformed into a “Black Country” by the Industrial Revolution. First firm record of the family is 1841 census. Possible marriage between xxx Later censes inc that comment about bed and death from exhaustion. Mary’s sister Jane and her life – unmarried mum, working. Selena? (Waklem as a surname)
