Florence Amelia Payne
Needs an update: I think she married in London; see Ancestry; need Marriage Cert to prove it. Was she a black sheep rather than dying young?
Florence was Ralph’s sister; she was six years younger than him and preusmably named after hre mother, another Florence. I can’t find her after 1930 when she would have been 21 – she may have married or possibly died young. Marj didn’t list her when describing her father’s siblings.
The facts:
Florence was born on the 5th December 1908 at 1 back 28 Garbett Street.
For the 1911 census she is with the whole family, again 1 back 28 Garbett Street – “At home, baby”
1921 with the family at the same house.
1930 living with Mother & sister Marian at 1 back 27(?) Garbett Street. (inclusion on this record – I think it means she was she now eligible to vote aged 21?? – are there any other residence records for her around this time, or for Florence snr without her?)
She is not with her parents for the 1939 register; there is a Florence Smith with the correct date of birth in West Brom which but I can’t find a marriage record for that; equally there is no other obvious marriage or death record either. – no, that was using registration date; she’s born on my birthday
