b1854 “Leamington” – Thurlaston?, Ralph’s grandfather. Father John, b October 1819, mother Ann Townsend. Baptised Leamington Hastings, living at “Hill” A very rural hamlet still.
Probably in Kenilworth in 1861 and Erdington 1871 – James a gunmaker and John an Inspector of Nuisances (!!) – an early sanitary inspector.
Married Amelia Beesley on 2nd August 1875 in St Silas’ Church Lozells. Aston. She was living at 150 Carpenter Road, He was at St James Place, William Street.
3 children by 1881 where Cifton Road Aston Manor, he was a General Labourer.
9th January 1884 son George born; James was a Road Foreman and they were living 9 Boulton Road, Handsworth.
1891 in JQ – 26 Regent Place with 4 children;
dies 1894 (buried Warstone Lane)
